Complex Tour Tubulum Construction

Step Three

Building the tubulum heads

  • In order to cut on an angle consistently into each head you create, I suggest making a tracer out of the PVC shower pan liner. Wrap it around the end of a pipe with the flat end of the tracer against the pipe end. Then trace along the edge of the tracer with a permanent marker or heavy pencil. (When I find my tracer, I'll put up a better picture than the computer-made junk to the right.)
  • Experiment with a few PVC pipes segments until you find an angle that works well for applying the PVC shower pan liner and duct tape.
  • Cut a 12" x 12" segment of PVC shower pan liner.
  • Hold tautly against the head end of your PVC pipe segment and begin to apply duct tape several times circling around the PVC pipe.
  • Lastly, you will glue on a coupler to the end of your head.  The four bottom row heads are 18" long.
  • The four middle row heads are 14-3/8" long.
  • The four top row heads are 10-1/4" long.
