Step Four
Cutting ABS and PVC/Tuning your tubulum
- Cut twelve about 16" segments of 4" dia. PVC pipe (enough so that the ABS pipe can attach in the back and the PVC head can attach in the front; 1 = ABS, 2 = PVC segment, 3 = head).
- Cut approximately 6" into one end of your ABS tubing roll (basically cut a large slit perpendicular to the end of the pipe). This is to allow a PVC segment to slip inside as you essentially are widening the diameter of the ABS tubing.
- Fit one of your PVC pipe segments inside the cut end of the ABS tubing.
- Put at least four rivets around the perimeter entering through the ABS tubing first, and then into the PVC segment (I will have a better picture of this soon)
- Then run tape around several times in order to seal the gaps securing air flow throughout your combined tube and pipe.
- Attach and duct tape one of your heads onto the opposite end of the PVC pipe segment. I recommend duct taping the head on to allow detachment later for easy transportation

- Refer to my tubulum tube size chart to determine how much to cut off from the ABS tubing roll.
- As always, better to go long on your cuts than cutting your exact measurement. Leave yourself room to trim.
- Repeat the above steps for each note on your tubulum.

- Congratulations! You've built your very own tubulum! (except that the picture to the right shows mine before I added the bottom support 2 x 4s and wheels)
